It is widely regarded by fans that adidas are the No.1 football shirt manufacturer in the world. They don’t always get it right, but in general they take very good care of all their licenses and each new kit is eagerly anticipated. In a recent poll by us here at Subside Sports some 60% of people would like adidas to the next manufacturer of their club shirts.
Based in the region of Herzogenaurach, Germany then surely it must be the absolute pinnacle of a German adidas designers career to create the new kits for the national team, especially as they are amongst the favorites for Euro 2012.
The latest incarnation of the Germany football shirt comes after a very popular black away kit, helped by the excellent performance on-field during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Initial reaction to this new heritage green colour has been very positive, and as intended everyone is relating this back to their 1972 kit when the German national team won the European Championship 3-0 against Russia in the Final. Gerd Müller was the player of the tournament, scoring twice in both the Semi-Final and Final.
Their squad is full of Bundesliga and Champions League stars, including Götze, Müller, Reus, Özil, Schweinsteiger and Kroos.
