One more sleep. Just one more sleep. One more until the Bundesliga returns. Last seasons saw some surprises, some amazing goals and Bayern Munich lifting the trophy…again.
But as RB Leipzig showed us last year, anything can happen.
Here we take a look at some of the best Bundesliga kits for this season.
We start with the club that surprised just about everyone last season. Whilst a they were expected to shake things up a little, few predicted RB Leipzig would actually top the Bundesliga for a while and end up finishing second. They have managed to keep hold of their key players so far despite other European clubs sniffing around. This season will prove a bit more of a test as they look to maintain their winning form and put pressure on Bayern. They’ll also be playing in the Champions League, Which is an exciting prospect. They’re home shirt this season looks great, with a flashy design over the shoulders, it looks simple but effective.
Not a bad season from the team from the capital. A solid 6th place and qualification to the Europa League group stage. This year also marks the 125th anniversary of the club, this has been noted in their special anniversary shirt which looks great. An outline of the Berlin skyline on a white shirt, this shirt is sure to be remembered for a while. It’s difficult to break any sort of boundaries with a blue and white striped shirt but this Hertha home shirt manages it well. The subtle gold outline on the crest looks really nice. It’s tough to do much with a striped shirt but it’s very easy to get it wrong. Hertha have not got it wrong.
You can’t talk about the Bundesliga and not talk about Bayern. Out of the 34 game weeks, Bayern were top of the Bundesliga for 31. This year they’ll be going for their 6th consecutive league title. Quite some feat. Their home shirt this year is inspired by the shirt worn in 1974 when they won the Bundesliga and European Cup. They’ll be hoping to repeat that success this year and it’s hard to see anyone standing in their way.
Last season was Hamburger’s 54th consecutive season in the Bundesliga and they are the only team to have played in every season of the Bundesliga since its introduction in 1963. Despite a poor season last season, they are still in the Bundesliga and this year they’ll be looking good whilst playing. Some football shirts are incredibly plain and boring. Shirts don’t have to be crazy to be interesting. But some are just too boring (looking at you Chelsea and Tottenham). Hamburger SV don’t have this problem with their away kit though. This one is a great looking shirt. They’ll just be hoping to improve on their league position this season.
It’s always exciting when football returns. Who knows what this season will throw up for these teams. Can Leipzig end Bayerns Dominance? Can Bayern win a European Trophy? Can Hamburger push up the table and uphold their amazing record of staying in the Bundesliga?
We’ll just have to wait and see!
